Quantinuum to place Helios quantum system inside Oracle Cloud data centers

Oracle will buy a Helios system and install it in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure sites in the United States, with the quantum computer designed to be used alongside OCI tools rather than as a separate resource.

Quantinuum, the quantum computing company that went public in June, announced a multiyear partnership with Oracle to install its Helios quantum computer directly inside Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Yahoo Finance reports the agreement signals an effort to integrate quantum computing into the same cloud environment that supports enterprise AI and traditional computing workloads.

Oracle will purchase a Helios system and place it inside an OCI data center in the United States. The plan is for Helios to be the first machine of its type installed inside a public cloud provider's data center on U.S. soil, while an additional deployment is already headed for Singapore.

The setup is intended to let developers access quantum computing alongside Oracle's existing networking, storage, identity management, and AI tools. Quantinuum said the Helios system draws less than 1% of the power reported for leading supercomputers, positioning it as a lower power option for workloads that fit quantum use cases.

Quantinuum says Helios, launched commercially in November 2025, is its third generation system built with 98 physical qubits using trapped ion technology. The company also cited demonstration results using 48 logical qubits and an average two-qubit gate fidelity of 99.921%, which it said clears the commonly cited “three nines” accuracy threshold.
