Upgraded Huanggang border crossing set to begin Hong Kong service

The upgraded Huanggang border crossing between Hong Kong and Shenzhen is expected to begin service after about six years of redevelopment, with the Hong Kong Port Area previously suggested to open as early as September, according to the South China Morning Post.

After the changes, the revamped Huanggang checkpoint will no longer serve goods vehicles, and the port will operate as the city’s second round-the-clock checkpoint.

For transport access, Hong Kong residents will be able to reach the port building using six daytime franchised bus routes and one overnight route, plus minibus options.

The article says there are three daytime minibus routes and three overnight minibus routes available for users once the new arrangements are in place.
