Hong Kong customs investigates complaint tied to Opatra London sale
Police said a 58-year-old woman reported buying HK$61,400 of products last month and questioned the shop’s sales practices.
Hong Kong customs said it is actively following up on a case involving Opatra London, a London-based skincare brand, after a customer raised concerns about the company’s operations and sales conduct. According to the customs update, the dispute centers on a report that the woman paid more than HK$60,000 for products. Opatra London’s outlet in Sha Tin New Town Plaza posted a notice over the weekend saying it had temporarily suspended operations, without providing further details.
Police said the complaint was filed last Wednesday by a 58-year-old woman. She alleged she bought HK$61,400 worth of products at the shop last month and challenged the shop’s sales practices.
The brand, founded in 2010 and headquartered in the UK, is described as a hi-tech skincare company known for luxury anti-ageing devices and formulations. Its products are sold in more than 45 countries, and it has operated counters or booths across Hong Kong shopping centers and beauty events, the report said.
