Iran offers $30,000 bounty for killing or capturing US soldiers

The reward would double if carried out by a woman, and Iran also reiterated a demand that the US leave the Middle East.

Iran’s military announced it is offering a bounty equivalent to US$30,000 for killing or capturing US soldiers, with payment described as 5 billion tomans. The offer also includes a doubled reward for actions carried out by women, according to an announcement by Army chief Amir Hatami carried by Iran’s IRNA state news agency.

Hatami said the plan was drawn up after a “large number of requests” to take part, but he did not specify where or when any targeting was expected to occur. He also said the US has no permission to enter the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, or the Strait of Hormuz.

The announcement noted there has been no known deployment of US ground forces in Iran during the Middle East war, aside from a rescue mission in April involving a downed American airman.
