DUAL North America names Sam Fowler SVP of Tax for Transactional Risk
The new role covers tax liability underwriting and expands DUAL’s Transactional Risk offering to clients and broker partners across the US market.
DUAL North America has appointed Sam Fowler as Senior Vice President of Tax for its global Transactional Risk platform in the US, adding dedicated tax underwriting leadership to the firm’s coverage team. The company said Fowler’s remit includes leading the tax liability insurance offering for the platform.
The appointment follows DUAL’s recent hire of Terry Enright as SVP, Representations & Warranties (R&W), with both practices sitting within the Transactional Risk platform. DUAL said its North America business runs on two core coverages, R&W and tax liability.
DUAL described its Transactional Risk platform as spanning 11 jurisdictions across North America, Latin America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia and New Zealand, supported by long-term, multi-year capacity from Liberty. The firm also noted Fowler brings a decade of experience in US tax matters covering standalone tax exposures and tax considerations that arise in M&A deals.
DUAL North America’s Group Head of Transactional Risk, Paul Smith, said standing up a dedicated tax offering in the US was the next step after Terry’s arrival on the R&W side. Chief Casualty Officer Connie Germano said dedicated tax expertise in the US was a priority, and Fowler will build the practice alongside the R&W team, starting in New York.
