Fake World Assets adds FWAir so new NFT collections launch into its pool

The protocol said fee income has dropped more than 98% since token emissions ended two weeks ago, and it generated $11,069 in fees over the past 24 hours.

Fake World Assets is expanding how new NFTs are launched inside its randomized pool with a mechanism called FWAir, now allowing artists to issue fresh collections directly into the protocol rather than only trading existing NFTs, according to The Defiant.

TokenWorks, the team behind FWA, said the first FWAir launch is expected this week, using supporter-backed ETH at creator-set prices to determine which collections enter the pool. If every NFT in a collection is fully backed within the period, the NFTs and the ETH backing them are added to FWA, while backers are refunded if funding falls short.

FWA routes artist payments through its trading fee stream instead of mint proceeds, meaning creators receive no money upfront and are paid only as collectors keep pulling items from the pool. The outlet reported FWA generated $11,069 in fees over the past 24 hours, down from $1.63 million on July 25, with fees over seven days totaling $424,168 compared with $10.25 million over 30 days.

The FWAir design also sets liquidation terms for supporters and continues to pay FWA token rewards across depositors, including a 1% difference that goes to FWA’s buyback reserve, per the creator guide shared by TokenWorks co-founder Rhynotic. The Defiant said total value locked is $3.14 million, down from $5 million on Aug. 4.
