Fulcrum Therapeutics merges with Slate Medicines to advance migraine pipeline

The combined company, trading as SLTE, says its $245 million oversubscribed private placement is expected to fund operations into 2029.

Fulcrum Therapeutics said it is merging with Slate Medicines, with the combined company operating as Slate Medicines, Inc. and trading on Nasdaq under the ticker SLTE.

The companies said the merger is intended to advance next-generation therapeutics for migraine and other headache disorders.

Slate also disclosed that it secured an oversubscribed concurrent private placement totaling $245 million from healthcare investors led by Frazier Life Sciences, with participation that includes Forbion, RA Capital Management, and Deep Track Capital.

The new company’s cash balance is expected to fund operations into 2029, and Slate’s CEO Gregory Oakes said the merger and related financing are meant to provide resources to advance SLTE-1009 and the broader pipeline through potentially meaningful clinical milestones.
