Pony.ai and Uber expand robotaxi deployment across Europe
The expanded partnership calls for more than 2,000 robotaxis in Europe, starting in Zagreb and adding four unnamed cities beyond it.
Pony.ai said it will deploy more than 2,000 robotaxis across Europe under an expanded Uber partnership that began in May 2025, according to Yahoo Finance.
The rollout is set to build on an existing commercial robotaxi service in Zagreb, Croatia and extend to four additional European cities, with plans to expand to the Middle East as well.
Uber said the model is designed to shift more ride economics toward its margins as autonomous miles reduce reliance on its driver network, with autonomous vehicles operating in seven cities today.
Yahoo Finance also noted Uber reported second-quarter gross bookings of $58 billion, with $25 billion flowing to its 10.2 million drivers, and that non-GAAP net income rose 29% to $1.6 billion, while monthly active platform consumers grew 16% year over year and trips rose 18%.
