Rick Jackson leads Georgia governor race with CRE-linked donations
Bisnow analysis of campaign disclosure records says Jackson has taken at least $67K from individuals tied to commercial real estate companies as of July, compared with Bottoms’ at least $30K.
HousingWire? not applicable. According to Bisnow, Atlanta commercial real estate figures are backing both Georgia gubernatorial candidates, with GOP contender Rick Jackson drawing the larger share of money from people associated with commercial real estate companies.
The outlet’s analysis of campaign disclosure records found Jackson had amassed at least $67,000 in such individual donations as of July, while Democratic contender Keisha Lance Bottoms had at least $30,000.
Bisnow also cites Georgia ethics records showing Regent Partners founder and chairman David Allman as one of Jackson’s 10 largest donors, contributing $21,600 over 2026. Allman’s firm developed the Sovereign mixed-use tower in Buckhead and owns office buildings including the King and Queen properties in Central Perimeter.
The race is described as close, with Quantus Insights polling of 815 likely voters showing Bottoms at 46.4% and Jackson at 44.9%, leaving nearly 8% undecided, according to Atlanta News First as quoted by Bisnow.
