American Airlines upgrades premium cabin features to draw travelers

American is expanding premium amenities, including seatback screens and larger first-class seats, as it tries to narrow the gap with Delta and United.

American Airlines is rolling out cabin upgrades aimed at making its premium offering more competitive, according to CNBC Markets.

The changes include adding seatback screens and increasing first-class space, efforts the outlet links to American trying to catch up with rivals Delta and United.

The initiative comes after American fell behind its competitors on premium seating and passenger perks, CNBC Markets said.
