Bitcoin wallet dormant since 2011 moves after 15 years

The wallet received 8.54 BTC in June 2011 when Bitcoin traded near $14, then woke up last year to send about $538,000 in a single transaction, according to Decrypt.

A Bitcoin address that stayed dormant for roughly 15 years suddenly moved, bringing activity back to coins that were last used in the early days of the network, Decrypt reports.

The address received 8.54 BTC in June 2011, when Bitcoin was trading around $14, and it remained silent until the recent transaction.

After the long inactivity, the wallet executed a single move of approximately $538,000 worth of BTC, according to Decrypt.
