Allocators to discuss due diligence and portfolio construction at Hedgeweek US Summit

The pre-event conversation ahead of the Oct. 8 New York summit focused on how crowding, leverage, and shifting exposures are changing hedge fund portfolio building.

Hedgeweek will host its US Summit in New York on Oct. 8, and the event's program previewed allocator discussions on manager selection, due diligence, and portfolio construction, according to Hedgeweek.

A pre-event Coffee Chat featured George Evans of Aksia, Jackie Rosner of PAAMCO Prisma, and Paul Zummo of J.P. Morgan Alternative Asset Management, with a focus on how allocators distinguish luck from skill when evaluating hedge fund managers.

The session also covered why managers are expected to perform beyond their initial pitch, and it examined how factors such as crowding, leverage, and shifting exposures are affecting how hedge fund portfolios are built.

The speakers plan to continue the discussion during the closing allocator panel at the Hedgeweek US Summit.
