Rebel Ice Cream files for bankruptcy after packaging lawsuit setback
The filing follows a federal judge order requiring Rebel to pay nearly $24 million to Van Leeuwen for container design copying.
Rebel Ice Cream has filed for bankruptcy, after losing a packaging dispute with Van Leeuwen, according to NYT Business.
The announcement comes less than a month after a federal judge ordered Rebel to pay nearly $24 million to Van Leeuwen for copying the design of its containers.
NYT Business said the bankruptcy filing is tied to the company’s legal and financial fallout from that ruling.
