Saudi Aramco plans full September crude supply to European refiners
Aramco is arranging deliveries via Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and ship-to-ship transfers off Malta as key maritime routes face war-related disruptions.
Saudi Aramco will provide full contractual crude volumes to at least three European refiners in September, with Bloomberg reporting the plan includes deliveries sourced from Egypt and Saudi Arabia plus ship-to-ship transfers off Malta.
According to the report, two of the European refiners will receive barrels from Egypt’s Mediterranean port of Sidi Kerir, while a third refiner can choose between Sidi Kerir, Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea port of Yanbu, or a Malta ship-to-ship transfer.
The company notified its European customers about a week later than usual, and the shift is intended to support supply at a time when Saudi Arabia’s two main maritime export routes are under pressure due to the ongoing regional war.
Aramco is also restarting loadings from inside the Persian Gulf, with loadings at Ras Tanura and Juaymah resumed last week after a three-week interruption, including three very large crude carriers loading roughly 2 million barrels each between August 12 and August 16.
