AXA XL appoints Kerry Vitolano to lead US risk management

The hire is aimed at expanding AXA XL’s regional casualty business, strengthening support for clients with complex liability exposures, and developing cross-line casualty strategy across the Americas.

AXA XL, the property and casualty specialty risk division of AXA, has appointed Kerry Vitolano as Head of East, US Risk Management and Head of US Risk Management, based in New York, according to Reinsurance News.

In the new role, Vitolano will lead the East Primary Casualty team to expand AXA XL’s regional casualty business and improve support for clients with complex liability exposures. She will also contribute to the national casualty effort as part of the Americas Casualty Leadership team, helping develop overall casualty strategy and promote cross-selling across lines of business.

AXA XL said Vitolano will focus on fostering strategic broker partnerships to drive business opportunities, working across the firm’s Large Commercial and Specialty teams in the Americas. The company also linked the appointment to an evolving market shaped by increased litigation and emerging risks.

Vitolano brings more than two decades of risk management and underwriting experience from AIG, Travelers, and ACE Group, now Chubb. Most recently at AIG, she served as Vice President and Risk Management Branch Manager for New York and Boston, overseeing profitable, loss-sensitive primary casualty business in the region, the outlet said.
