H-E-B plans $635 million expansion with over $15 million tax cut
Bexar County approved a 10-year incentive expected to cut the county property-tax bill by more than $15 million, supporting potential job growth at the East Side campus.
H-E-B is planning a $635 million expansion of its Super Regional Center near Foster Road and East Houston Street in Bexar County, Texas, ConnectCRE reports.
As part of the deal, Bexar County voted to approve an incentive that will reduce the company’s county property-tax bill by more than $15 million over the life of a ten-year agreement.
ConnectCRE notes that H-E-B built a 1.6-million-square-foot regional warehouse at the site in 2018 and added another plant in 2024.
The company says the campus already employs about 1,400 workers, and the expansion could add 720 new jobs, with the latest additions expected to include a bakery plant, a refrigerated warehouse, and a returned-goods center.
