Vantage names Lucy Fato as general counsel after Howard Hughes deal
Fato takes over after Bobbi Anderson stepped down, and her hiring follows Howard Hughes Holdings completing its acquisition in June 2026.
Vantage Group Holdings Ltd., a specialty reinsurance business, has appointed Lucy Fato as its new general counsel as the company moves into its next phase after being acquired by Howard Hughes Holdings.
In the role, Fato will join Vantage’s leadership team and advise Executive Chairman Marc Grandisson on strategic matters. Vantage said she brings more than 30 years of experience across legal affairs, regulatory matters, compliance, and corporate governance in the insurance and wider financial services sectors.
Most recently, Fato served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Seaport Entertainment Group, a position she took after Seaport separated from Howard Hughes Holdings in August 2024. Before that, she held senior roles at AIG, including Vice Chair and General Counsel, and she previously worked at firms including Davis Polk & Wardwell, according to Reinsurance News.
The appointment comes after Howard Hughes Holdings completed its acquisition of Vantage in June 2026, and it follows the departure of Bobbi Anderson, who stepped down as Vantage’s general counsel. Vantage’s Grandisson said Fato’s judgment on complex legal and regulatory matters will support the company’s long-term value creation plans.
