XRP trades more during London-New York overlap as onchain activity shifts
Onchain data analyzed by Evernorth shows about 23% of XRP transactions now occur in the three-hour overlap window, up from roughly 14% a year ago.
Ripple-linked XRP jumped more than 14% after onchain analytics pointed to a clear shift in when activity concentrates on the XRP Ledger. According to ledger data analyzed by treasury firm Evernorth and shared with CoinDesk, nearly a quarter of XRP transactions now occur in a three-hour window that spans London afternoon and New York morning. The overlap window accounts for 23% of XRP changing hands, up from about 14% a year ago. Because that window is 12.5% of a full day, activity in it now runs at nearly twice the rate of an evenly distributed 24-hour trading day. The pattern appears across multiple parts of the XRP market on the ledger, including the order book, automated market maker pools, and cross-currency payments routed through both regions. Evernorth said the change aligns with growing institutional interest in XRP, while also noting the concentration matches the same hours when global foreign exchange trading liquidity is highest. XRP does not “close” since trading runs continuously, but the onchain market is increasingly reflecting “banker hours.” CoinDesk also reported that XRP rose over 15% in 24 hours to around $1.15 on Thursday, briefly touching $1.16, as bitcoin moved past $72,000.
