China orders door-safety changes for Tesla and eight others
China’s top vehicle regulator has ordered door-safety changes for Tesla and eight other automakers after reports that occupants sometimes had difficulty exiting certain electric cars with retractable door handles after crashes.
According to reporting by the NYT Business, the action is part of China’s largest car recall related to door safety and covers updates intended to address the exit difficulty when crashes occur.
