Lyntris shares fall 11.4% in New York debut, valuing firm at $1.78B
The defense contractor opened at $15.5, below its $17.50 IPO price, after it raised $297.5 million by selling 17 million shares.
Lyntris, a defense contractor based in Falls Church, Virginia, saw its shares drop 11.4% in its New York debut on Wednesday, leaving the company valued at $1.78 billion, according to Reuters.
Shares opened at $15.5 each, below the initial public offering price of $17.50 apiece.
The IPO was downsized to 17 million shares from an earlier plan to sell 24 million shares, and Lyntris and certain existing shareholders raised $297.5 million after pricing at $17.50.
Reuters also reported that the company sold about 5.7 million shares in the IPO, while existing shareholders reduced their offering by more than 7.8 million shares, reflecting investor selectivity despite a rebound in the U.S. IPO market in recent months.
