Equinor signs three-year crude supply deal with ORLEN for 2026-2029
The agreement starts in September and covers annual deliveries ranging from 5 million to more than 9 million tonnes, with Norwegian crude potentially making up as much as a quarter of ORLEN's yearly oil needs.
Equinor has signed a three-year agreement to supply crude oil to Poland's ORLEN from the Johan Sverdrup field, deepening an existing energy relationship that already includes natural gas, LNG, and renewable power, Yahoo Finance reports.
The deal takes effect at the beginning of September and sets annual deliveries of between 5 million and more than 9 million tonnes of crude, with ORLEN able to receive other crude grades from the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
At the upper end of the range, Norwegian crude could represent as much as one-quarter of ORLEN's annual oil requirements, according to the Polish company, and the crude will be supplied to refineries in Poland, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic.
The arrangement provides ORLEN with longer-term supply visibility amid continued global oil market volatility, while giving Equinor a major long-term customer for barrels from Johan Sverdrup, the report says.
