Trane and Eaton partner on unified power and cooling for AI data centers
The collaboration targets medium-voltage data center designs and claims up to 15% energy efficiency gains, along with an 80% reduction in copper use.
Trane Technologies and Eaton announced a strategic collaboration on Aug. 17 aimed at accelerating AI-factory deployment through integrated thermal management and electrical system architectures, including a reference design for next-generation data centers. The companies said the approach replaces traditional siloed power and cooling designs with medium-voltage architectures and is built in alignment with NVIDIA DSX platforms. They projected up to 15% energy efficiency gains, an 80% reduction in copper use, and up to 30% lower installation costs. Yahoo Finance also noted that both firms reported record Q2 2026 results and raised full-year guidance, attributing momentum to infrastructure demand from AI data centers. Trane posted Q2 net revenues of $6.4 billion, up 11% year-over-year, and raised full-year organic revenue growth guidance to about 9%, with adjusted EPS up 11% to $4.31.
