Whale Rock cuts Nvidia stake by about 64% in Q2 13F filing

The hedge fund reduced Nvidia holdings to 377,204 shares while boosting its AMD position to about 1.51 million shares, according to its latest 13F.

Whale Rock Capital Management sharply reduced its Nvidia exposure in the second quarter, according to its most recent 13F filing cited by Yahoo Finance. The fund cut Nvidia shares from about 1.04 million to 377,204, a reduction of roughly 64%.

At the same time, the filing shows Whale Rock increased its stake in Advanced Micro Devices. The hedge fund raised its AMD holding from 69,211 shares to about 1.51 million shares, indicating it was not fully exiting AI semiconductor exposure.

Yahoo Finance also notes that the same quarter included other portfolio moves, including a significant reduction in Whale Rock's stake in Broadcom. The article links Nvidia's role in AI infrastructure to the stakes involved, adding that Nvidia trades near $215 per share and has a $5.24 trillion market capitalization, with the stock about 10% below its 52-week high.
