Guy Carpenter hires Jessica Ciak to lead healthcare reinsurance role
Ciak joins the Healthcare Segment as Senior Vice President, based in Minneapolis and focused on US medical professional liability.
Guy Carpenter, a Marsh business and global risk and reinsurance specialist, announced that Jessica Ciak has joined its Healthcare Segment as Senior Vice President.
Ciak will be based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and report to Martha Jacobs, the Healthcare Segment Leader, with the role focused on the US Medical Professional Liability sector.
Guy Carpenter said Ciak brings more than 25 years of reinsurance experience, most recently from BMS Group where she served as Senior Vice President, including treaty reinsurance across property and casualty products with a specialty lines focus on medical professional liability.
In the appointment commentary, the firm pointed to unprecedented challenges in medical malpractice insurance, including record-setting verdicts and evolving plaintiff-favorable legislation, as well as rising severity trends, aggregation exposures, and reinsurance capacity pressures.
