Manulife launches ChatGPT app for personalized travel insurance quotes

The app generates single-trip quotes for one traveler and carries the user responses into the CoverMe.com purchase flow.

Manulife has launched a ChatGPT app aimed at helping Canadian travelers request personalized CoverMe travel insurance quotes, with users answering questions about their age, province of residence, destination, travel dates and trip cost, according to Coverager.

After a quote is generated inside the ChatGPT app, users are directed to CoverMe.com, where the information provided through ChatGPT carries over into the purchase process.

Manulife says the offering supports single-trip coverage for one traveler who is a Canadian citizen or resident, and it is not designed for multi-trip or group coverage.

The company also limits the scope of the app, noting it does not cover travelers with pre-existing medical conditions, and it does not provide claims management or emergency and travel assistance, while warning users not to share detailed medical information and stating the quotes are informational and do not guarantee coverage.
