Chubb partners with BBVA to offer digital travel insurance in Germany
The fully digital offering lets BBVA customers buy customizable individual, couple, and family coverage via an end-to-end quote to purchase journey.
Chubb has partnered with BBVA to offer fully digital travel insurance to the bank’s customers in Germany, with coverage that can be customized for individuals, couples, and families, according to Coverager.
Customers can purchase the policy through an end-to-end digital experience, from getting a quote to completing the purchase. BBVA also provides travel-related card and rewards benefits, including cashback and no foreign exchange fees on card purchases.
The partnership extends Chubb’s strategy of distributing travel insurance through financial institutions, airlines, and travel platforms. Coverager noted that existing distribution includes Korean Air, Neo Financial, and DBS Bank’s Travel Marketplace.
Coverager also said Chubb appointed Wixtead, currently president of Chubb Tempest Re Group, to provide governance oversight and advise on strategy for Chubb’s global reinsurance business, and referenced the company’s July 22 second-quarter 2026 earnings call.
