Cypher Tank returns to Lugano for its second Bitcoin pitch season

Bitcoin-focused pitch competition Cypher Tank is returning to Lugano for a second season, after debuting last year, with applications for 2026 now open.

According to Bitcoin Magazine, the format pairs a “Shark Tank”-style negotiation with documentary-style production that films real pitches and judge deliberations for an online series.

This year’s edition expands the finalist field to 12 projects, eight for-profit and four nonprofit. Founders compete to negotiate direct investment from a panel of judges known as the “honey badgers,” with three $100,000 prizes for incubation, acceleration, or relocation services.

The competition runs in four phases, with applications open August 13 through September 25 and finalists notified starting September 30. Finals are scheduled for October 25 to 27 at PoW Space Lugano, followed by post-production through year-end and episode release planned for January 2027.
