The Institutes updates ARM risk credential to address new exposures
The redesigned Associate in Risk Management program adds content on interconnected business risks, AI and data analytics, and ethical decision-making.
Risk & Insurance reports that The Institutes has further modernized its Associate in Risk Management, or ARM, designation as risk management evolves to cover increasingly interconnected business exposures and newer technologies.
According to the outlet, the latest ARM redesign incorporates new content aimed at challenges tied to artificial intelligence and data analytics, along with ethical decision-making, building on the program’s original 1966 launch.
Risk & Insurance says the program has been updated before, with significant changes last made in 2019, and The Institutes President Adam Carmichael said the updates reflect shifting risks and the growing importance of risk management within enterprises.
The outlet adds that more than 37,000 risk professionals have earned the ARM since its inception, and it highlights industry examples, including Chris Mandel, who earned the designation in 1992 and later completed an enterprise risk version, and Kurtis Brandau, a vice president of underwriting operations at Church Mutual Insurance Co., who is also cited as a long time ARM holder.
