Paylogix breach exposes health, financial and identity data
The third-party administrator said hackers accessed its network between Nov. 13 and Nov. 18, 2025, affecting 64,383 people in South Carolina, along with cases in New Hampshire and Vermont.
Insurance Business reports that a ransomware gang stole health records, Social Security numbers, financial account data, and passport numbers from Paylogix, LLC.
Paylogix is a New York-based third-party administrator that handles employee benefits, payroll integration, and insurance administration for employers and insurers, and the notice filed with state regulators says the intrusion occurred between November 13 and November 18, 2025.
The company said it identified 64,383 affected individuals in South Carolina, along with 2,304 in New Hampshire and 1,102 in Vermont, and breach notices were also filed in multiple other states.
The outlet reports that Paylogix added to the Akira ransomware gang leak site in January, and that Akira operates using a double-extortion model, stealing data and threatening to publish it unless a ransom is paid. Several law firms have since announced they are organizing class action lawsuits against Paylogix.
