Soluna buys 397 acres for Project Dorothy 3 data center campus in Texas
The purchase expands Soluna’s planned Project Dorothy 3 footprint to nearly 300 MW potential capacity, with added room for data halls if more generation or storage is added at the site.
Soluna Holdings has closed the purchase of 397 acres in Briscoe County, Texas, for a renewable-first AI computing campus called Project Dorothy 3, according to ConnectCRE.
The development is designed to support intensive computing applications, including AI and Bitcoin mining, and the site has potential capacity of up to 300 MW. Soluna said the 397 acres exceeds the 300 acres it initially identified, giving the company additional space for data halls if more generation or storage capacity becomes available.
ConnectCRE reports that the parcel is adjacent to Project Dorothy 1 and 2, and near the 150 MW Briscoe Wind Farm that Soluna acquired in April. The Briscoe Wind Farm’s substation sits across from the acquired property, positioning Dorothy 3 for direct, behind-the-meter access to generation Soluna owns outright.
Project Dorothy 3 is part of Soluna’s broader development pipeline of about 6.3 GW across multiple sites, and the company currently operates about 192 MW of energized capacity.
