UWM launches Mortgage Matchup plugin for ChatGPT
The plugin lets users search for independent mortgage brokers by local area and expertise, then run affordability estimates with built-in calculators and a mortgage terms glossary.
United Wholesale Mortgage, or UWM, has launched a Mortgage Matchup plugin for ChatGPT, aiming to connect borrowers with independent mortgage brokers across the country, HousingWire reports.
The plugin is available through the ChatGPT mobile app and website. It lets users search for loan originators in their area, calculate how much they can afford, and access mortgage calculators, a glossary of common terms, and educational content.
UWM said the tool allows searches based on specific characteristics such as whether the originator is bilingual, specializes in a particular loan type, or has strong client reviews. Users can prompt ChatGPT by starting a request with “Mortgage Matchup,” which surfaces the plugin in the conversation.
According to UWM, broker profiles that already exist on its Mortgage Matchup website, including details such as photo, contact information, website, social media links, and biography, are eligible to appear in the plugin. HousingWire reports UWM’s chief marketing officer Sarah DeCiantis said the move is intended to make finding mortgage guidance easier, faster, and more personalized.
