Bill Gates may meet Xi Jinping to push global AI cooperation

Bill Gates is expected to seek support for broader global cooperation on artificial intelligence risks, with a possible meeting planned with Chinese President Xi Jinping later this year, according to SCMP Economy. The outlet cited a Gates spokesman saying the meeting may take place in November, with the story referencing Reuters reporting. SCMP Economy also noted that Xi last met with Gates in 2023, when Gates became the first foreign business leader to visit Xi as his “old friend.”
