Mirae Asset targets $109 billion digital asset business via Digital X
The plan centers Digital X on crypto, stablecoins, real-world assets, and security tokens, and includes possible additional capital and third-party allotments tied to earnings progress.
Mirae Asset Financial Group is mapping out a 150 trillion won, or about $109 billion, digital asset business centered on its renamed exchange operator Digital X, according to The Block, citing The Korea Times.
The Digital X platform is set to focus on four areas, crypto, stablecoins, real-world assets, and security token offerings, including tokenized commodities such as gold and silver, plus electricity. The group also plans to develop digital-asset financial products and make proprietary investments as part of an onchain finance ecosystem.
Mirae Asset founder and chairman Park Hyeon-joo described the ambition at an employee event in Seoul on Wednesday, while the company is also considering up to 300 billion won, or about $218 million, in additional capital for the business.
The push comes after Mirae Asset Consulting, an affiliate of Mirae Asset Financial Group, acquired a 97% stake in Korbit in July and renamed the exchange’s operating company Digital X. The company may pursue a 200 billion to 300 billion won third-party allotment in the first quarter of 2027 depending on the pace of earnings improvement.
