Schwab Crypto to expand retail menu with SOL, AVAX and LINK
The additions will expand Schwab Crypto’s direct-trading menu to five tokens, with trades priced at 0.75% of each transaction value.
Charles Schwab plans to add Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink to Schwab Crypto in the coming months, expanding the retail platform beyond bitcoin and ether after its May rollout, The Defiant reports. The new tokens are set to bring Schwab Crypto’s direct-trading menu to five assets. Schwab did not provide a specific launch date and said support could be delayed, changed or withdrawn due to market conditions, regulatory developments, operational issues, or risk.
Schwab Crypto is offered through Charles Schwab Premier Bank, with clients holding a separate crypto account linked to their Schwab brokerage account. Paxos was named as the provider of sub-custody and trade execution at the April launch, and The Defiant notes trades are priced at 75 basis points, or 0.75%, of the dollar value of each transaction.
Accounts are available in every U.S. state except New York and Louisiana, and they are unavailable in U.S. territories and international jurisdictions. Separately, Schwab targeted mid-2027 for spot crypto trading, transfers and custody for registered investment advisers on its platform, which held $5.2 trillion in advisor client assets at the end of the first quarter, The Defiant adds.
