Stellar MLS names Shayne Fairley CEO and pushes faster AI adoption
Fairley, who started in March, said the organization is working to iterate and roll out tools faster, while emphasizing “genuine AI” that saves agent time on listings and summaries.
HousingWire reports that Stellar MLS has a new CEO, Shayne Fairley, who took the helm in March and is now focused on accelerating technology adoption while maintaining the culture built under predecessor Merri Jo Cowen.
In an interview, Fairley said Stellar MLS is approaching the leadership change like a project, with milestones and schedules designed to keep the transition on track, and he emphasized the need for the industry to iterate faster and learn from mistakes more quickly.
Fairley also outlined a distinction between productive AI and hype, arguing that real artificial intelligence should be time-saving for agents, including tasks such as producing listings and summaries.
He added that Florida’s housing market remains healthy after lawsuit settlements, and said the settlements have contributed to a more professional approach as agents articulate value more directly to buyers.
