Bamboo Insurance files for NYSE IPO under ticker BMB

The Midvale, Utah-based MGU said its MGA written premium jumped from $66.6 million in 2022 to $696.1 million in 2025, about a 945% increase.

Bamboo Insurance, a technology-enabled homeowners insurance managing general agent based in Midvale, Utah, has filed a registration statement with the SEC for a proposed initial public offering, with plans to list its Class A common stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BMB.

According to Coverager, the insurer did not set the number of shares or the price range. The filing names J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley as joint lead bookrunners, with Deutsche Bank Securities, Evercore ISI, and Wells Fargo Securities acting as active bookrunners.

Bamboo positions itself as an underwriting-first, capital-light MGU that uses data science to manage underwriting and claims while partnering with diversified capacity providers. Coverager also reports that its MGA written premium increased from $66.6 million in 2022 to $696.1 million in 2025, a rise of $629.5 million.

Coverager added that Bamboo’s exit path has been active, including White Mountains acquiring the company in 2023, followed by CVC buying it for $1.8 billion in 2025, as Bamboo now pursues the IPO. The company’s premium growth rate slowed over time, moving from 199% in 2023 to 122% in 2024, then 58% in 2025.
