BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust drives nearly all Aug. 27 ETF inflows

On Aug. 27, IBIT pulled in $277.6 million, while US spot Bitcoin ETFs as a whole saw $242.3 million in net inflows, leaving funds outside IBIT with a $35.3 million collective outflow.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) attracted $277.6 million on Aug. 27, exceeding the $242.3 million net inflow reported for US spot Bitcoin ETFs overall, according to Farside Investors data cited by CryptoSlate.

The day’s gap reflected heavier redemptions at competing products. Fidelity’s FBTC lost $83.6 million, and Grayscale’s GBTC shed $27.2 million, for $110.8 million of combined outflows.

Smaller funds helped offset part of the pressure, with Bitwise’s BITB, ARK 21Shares’ ARKB, VanEck’s HODL, MSBT and Grayscale’s lower-fee BTC fund together adding $75.5 million.

CryptoSlate also notes the concentration behind the inflow streak. During the nine-day period since Aug. 17, US Bitcoin ETFs pulled in about $3.05 billion, with IBIT supplying about $2.3 billion, or 75.6% of the total. IBIT has accumulated about $63 billion in net inflows and manages roughly $62 billion in assets, and options on IBIT launched in November 2024 have grown into a major venue for Bitcoin options exposure.
