Netlist surges as Samsung deal ends years of legal disputes

The Samsung arrangement includes licensing access to Netlist patents, a memory supply commitment, and a purchase of 10 million Netlist shares.

Netlist shares have surged about 650% in less than eight months of 2026, even as the company remains smaller than many other AI beneficiaries, with a market capitalization under $2.5 billion, according to LiveMint Markets.

The rally is tied to a five-year licensing and supply agreement with Samsung Electronics that ended years of legal disputes between the two companies. Under the deal, Samsung gains access to Netlist's patent portfolio, including technologies used for server memory and high-bandwidth memory, and supplies Netlist with DRAM and NAND flash memory.

LiveMint Markets also reports that Samsung will purchase 10 million Netlist shares as part of the memory product supply agreement. The article adds that Netlist's strong second-quarter performance has helped support investor sentiment, even as the stock is described as highly volatile and still roughly 35% below its 2021 peak of $10.20.
