Nvidia rally lifts Taiwan’s TAIEX and AI-linked chip stocks

The TAIEX finished Friday up 0.8% at 46,349, and Taiwan’s largest chipmaker TSMC rose 0.4% as Nvidia’s results fueled AI demand expectations.

LiveMint Markets reports that Taiwan’s benchmark stock index, the TAIEX, rose Friday as Nvidia’s blockbuster quarterly performance and upbeat outlook lifted sentiment across AI-linked stocks. The index closed up 0.8% at 46,349, its highest level since 6 July, extending its 2026 gain to 58% and maintaining a four-year winning streak.

The outlet said TSMC was among the key contributors, rising 0.4%. TSMC, which accounts for nearly 40% of the TAIEX’s total market value and manufactures Nvidia’s advanced AI chips, is positioned to benefit from Nvidia-driven demand, with Nvidia estimated to make up more than 20% of TSMC’s total annual revenue in 2026.

LiveMint Markets also tied the market mood to Nvidia’s reported numbers for the July fiscal quarter, including revenue of $96.2 billion and adjusted profit of $2.22 per share. It noted that Nvidia expects revenue to grow by approximately 70% in fiscal 2028, which it said helped ease concerns that had recently built around AI stocks.

In addition to TSMC, other Taiwan technology names moved higher in the session, including MediaTek up 1.9%, Delta Electronics up 2.2%, and Nanya Technology up 0.2%. The article also cited Walsin Technology up 10% to 313.50 and BizLink Holding up 9.98% to 2,260.
