Aon nears deal to buy USI Insurance Services for about $17 billion
The report said the transaction could be announced as soon as Monday, with Aon purchasing USI for about $17 billion including debt.
Aon is close to signing a deal with private equity firm KKR to acquire insurance brokerage USI Insurance Services for around $17 billion including debt, according to a Wall Street Journal report cited by Coverager.
Coverager noted that KKR, together with Canadian pension investor CDPQ, bought USI in 2017 from private equity firm Onex for $4.3 billion.
The sources also outline Aon’s recent deal activity, saying the company acquired NFP for about $13 billion in 2024.
Coverager added that a prior $30 billion Aon merger attempt with Willis Towers Watson collapsed in 2021 after antitrust objections from the U.S. Department of Justice.
