Strategy buys 4,603 more bitcoin for $369.7 million, holdings hit 845,050 BTC
The purchase was funded through proceeds from Strategy’s at-the-market share sales program and lifted its bitcoin position to about $66.1 billion.
Strategy added 4,603 bitcoin to its balance sheet for approximately $369.7 million, raising its total holdings to 845,050 BTC, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing summarized by The Block.
The Block said the company bought the BTC between Aug. 24 and Aug. 30 at an average price of $80,318 per bitcoin. Strategy now holds bitcoin worth around $66.1 billion, and the article puts its average purchase price for the overall stack at $75,412 per bitcoin, including fees and expenses.
The Block reported the latest acquisition was funded by proceeds from at-the-market sales of Strategy’s Class A common stock. The filing also showed Strategy used about $369.7 million on bitcoin, spent $151.8 million to repurchase 1,557,177 shares of STRC preferred stock, and allocated $50.7 million to STRC dividends.
In addition, The Block said Strategy added the remaining $30 million to its USD Cash account, which was $1.61 billion as of Aug. 30, while its USD Reserve was $5.1 billion. The company also reported that $19.09 billion worth of MSTR shares remained available for issuance and sale under the ATM program.
