Bitcoin holds steady despite Trump’s Iran threat
Bitcoin was roughly $79,076 and showed no movement over 24 hours, even as the U.S. and Iran resumed strikes over the weekend.
Bitcoin traded largely flat on Monday despite renewed Middle East tensions, with the largest cryptocurrency recently around $79,076 and little change over a 24 hour period, according to Bitcoin Magazine.
Bitcoin has historically reacted to geopolitical developments with downward pressure during periods of war and occasional rallies tied to hopes for ceasefires, the outlet said, citing steep moves around earlier U.S.-Israel strikes on Iran in February and trading that was shaky in March and April.
In recent months, analysts cited by Bitcoin Magazine said Bitcoin’s volatility has been muted, and the latest day looked no different even after U.S. President Donald Trump pledged to hit Iran hard.
Bitcoin’s broader recent momentum has been tied, in part, to earlier market drivers including expectations for U.S. Treasury liquidity support and positive regulatory remarks. The outlet also points to renewed activity in crypto ETFs, including $3.2 billion in inflows last week, with BlackRock’s IBIT leading.
