Emergence Insurance appoints Keith Savino for US cyber launch
The new Emergence U.S. business will target small and mid-sized organizations using an agent-focused distribution model, combining underwriting with 24/7 incident response.
Emergence Insurance, an Australian cyber underwriting agency, has begun its United States launch and named Keith Savino to lead the effort, marking a push into a small business segment that domestic carriers have struggled to win over.
Savino brings 37 years of industry experience, most recently as managing partner and national cyber practice leader at Trucordia. He is a past president of the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents and has chaired AUGIE, NetVU and CPIA, credentials that highlight the independent agency channel role of the rollout.
Emergence U.S. will focus on small and mid-sized organizations and use an agent-focused distribution model. The approach is designed to position agents as the route to market, with Emergence bringing an Australia-style structure that pairs specialist underwriting, embedded cyber risk services and an in-house 24/7 incident response team instead of relying on a panel.
In explaining the market need, Emergence’s founder and chief executive Troy Filipcevic said cyber risk has become part of everyday operating risk, yet many organizations still do not buy dedicated cyber insurance. The outlet also noted that Savino previously argued cyber has shifted from a niche add-on to basic protection for businesses whose systems are difficult to fully understand and costly to rebuild alone.
