Leslie Cohen launches Ops Alchemy operations consulting firm for smaller CRE

Ops Alchemy positions Cohen as a fractional COO, targeting founder-led real estate firms that are scaling and need help restructuring internal operations.

Leslie Cohen, a Boston commercial real estate executive with more than 20 years in development and operations, has launched Ops Alchemy, an operations consulting venture aimed at smaller, growing real estate firms, according to Bisnow.

Cohen plans to market the business as a “fractional COO” service. She said her approach is designed for founder-led organizations at an inflection point, where scaling has increased the need for more structured internal operations and a clearer roadmap for the future.

Bisnow reports that Cohen will act as a senior operating partner for companies seeking stronger organizational structure. She described her work as different from a typical consulting engagement, drawing on experience from development and operations, including having owned a P&L.

Cohen left her most recent role at Davis in July and is launching Ops Alchemy as a one-person business, though she said she is already working with several companies while declining to share details. She said the firm is timed with broad change in the industry, including succession planning and growth considerations among Boston founder-led organizations.
