Arch Insurance EU appoints Giacomo Mariani to lead Italy branch

The Milan office will cover accident and health, cargo and logistics, fine art and specie, general liability, and property business once regulators approve the appointment.

Arch Insurance EU has appointed Giacomo Mariani as Italy Branch Manager, subject to regulatory approval, after opening its Milan office. Coverager reports Mariani will oversee daily operations, business development, and broker engagement for the Italian branch.

Mariani joins from Everest, where he was Head of Italy, and previously held leadership roles at Aon and Zurich. The appointment brings more than 14 years of experience in the Italian insurance market, according to Coverager.

The Milan office will write accident and health, cargo and logistics, fine art and specie, general liability, and property business. Arch Insurance EU is based in Dublin and also has branches in France, the Netherlands, Spain, and the UK, per Coverager.

Arch is also making its management liability product available to brokers through Ebix’s Sunrise Exchange. The suite includes accident medical expense reimbursement, hospital cash indemnity, and annual travel insurance coverage, Coverager added.
