Nvidia invests $3.5 billion in MediaTek to broaden its AI reach

Nvidia is set to invest $3.5 billion in MediaTek as it looks to expand its influence beyond its core GPU business, according to Decrypt.

The outlet said the deal is designed to connect Nvidia's chip ecosystem with a Taiwanese rival that is also building its own AI accelerator business.

Decrypt added that the investment follows MediaTek's record $3.9 billion bond offering, tying the chip deal to MediaTek's broader funding plans.
