HRA gets lease extension at Vornado’s 260 11th Avenue in Midtown South

The DCAS extension grants HRA an additional 18 months in the 174,186-square-foot space at 260 11th Avenue, where the building sits between West 26th and West 27th streets.

The New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services extended a Midtown South lease for the New York City Human Resources Administration at Vornado Realty Trust’s 260 11th Avenue, Commercial Observer reports. The extension adds 18 months to the arrangement at a time when HRA was scheduled for turnover in October.

HRA occupies 174,186 square feet at the seven-story landmarked Otis Elevator Building at 260 11th Avenue, according to the report. The deal was noted in a Colliers monthly Manhattan office market report, which also cited an average office asking rent for Midtown South of $78.90 in August.

DCAS negotiated the lease on HRA’s behalf, while the report says it is unclear who brokered the deal for Vornado, which declined to comment. The article also notes that HRA’s footprint at the property may have expanded beyond its initial 154,000 square feet, and that Vornado holds a 99-year ground lease for the site.
