Gallagher names Chief Commercial Officer for EMEA private M&A

The move is designed to expand Gallagher’s specialist private capital and M&A advisory and distribution of related insurance products across EMEA.

Gallagher, the global insurance broking and risk management group, is expanding its Private Equity and M&A business in EMEA with the appointment of Paul Jeroen van de Grampel as Chief Commercial Officer EMEA. He is based in London and will work across the region as Gallagher develops its specialist offering for private capital investors, corporate buyers and participants in the M&A advisory market, according to Reinsurance News.

In the role, van de Grampel will focus on developing the PEMA proposition, managing client relationships, and overseeing the distribution of specialist insurance products and services. Gallagher said he has more than 25 years of experience across private equity, M&A, asset management and insurance, including work as a corporate M&A lawyer and roles within private equity and M&A divisions at a major insurance broker.

Gallagher also said the appointment comes alongside two additional senior hires to strengthen the operational side of its EMEA PEMA business. Louis Mannell joins as Operations Director, EMEA, and Joshua Yardley is appointed Operations Manager, UK, with both bringing experience from a peer firm during a period of substantial growth in private equity and M&A insurance.

Gallagher CEO Alistair Lester for Private Equity and M&A, UK and EMEA, said van de Grampel’s background fits the company’s ambition and that Gallagher is building client capabilities across EMEA to help maximize value creation in deal environments and beyond. The company said the operational expertise of Mannell and Yardley is intended to support further development and expansion of PEMA activities in the region.
