Zillow faces discrimination suit alleging retaliation after medical leave
The lawsuit says the employee was fired Sept. 9, 2025, hours after returning from approved medical leave and following an HR complaint filed the prior day.
A former Zillow employee has filed a discrimination and retaliation lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Denver, alleging age-based harassment, FMLA interference, and retaliation.
The complaint, filed early, says the plaintiff, identified as Kenneth Brantley, was terminated on Sept. 9, 2025, hours after he returned from approved medical leave and shortly after filing an HR complaint the previous day.
Brantley, who is described as a 44-year-old man, worked at Zillow beginning in August 2018 and held multiple roles before becoming a manager overseeing acquisitions, agent software and advertising, the suit says.
According to the allegations, his anxiety, depression, panic disorder, and insomnia were caused by the unlawful conduct he claims occurred, and he also cites mockery by his manager, Jonathan Ney, including jokes about age and appearance, as well as T-shirts used to mock him in a recorded company meeting.
