Aviva launches hybrid fronting offering for larger MGAs
The program targets multi-country, multi-line insurance plans with at least £20 million in gross written premium, pairing fronting capacity with risk retention.
Aviva has launched a hybrid fronting offering for larger, established managing general agents, using its Global Corporate & Specialty business. The offering is designed for international, multi-line programs that generate at least £20 million in gross written premium.
The hybrid model combines fronting capacity with meaningful risk retention, with decision-making based in London. Aviva said the activity will be run through a standalone profit-and-loss unit.
Aviva plans an initial focus on insurance classes where it already has underwriting expertise. It also framed the launch as a single route for MGAs, brokers, and reinsurers to access its global reach, specialist underwriting and financial strength.
The offering covers five products, Directors & Officers, Fund Directors & Officers Liability, Investment Management Insurance, Professional Indemnity, and Crime cover. In addition, Aviva’s Direct Line branded home insurance products are now available through price comparison websites for the first time.
